How do you Know Club
HDYKC
Join me for a gentle, relational 5-week parent programme supporting regulation, resilience, and connection. HDKYC – How Do You Know Club™ Making sense of big emotions With Nicola Besley, Registered Play Therapist and Relational Family Coach. How Do You Know Club™ is a gentle, relational, and informative five-week parent programme. It supports parents to feel more in control and more connected in relationships with their children. This relational model is suitable for all ages and for children with different ways of thinking, feeling, and processing the world. Parents learn how to help their children recognise emotional states earlier rather than later, reducing overwhelm and escalation. Our work together is collaborative and responsive, with careful attention to your child’s unique brain and nervous system throughout the course. As the course progresses, parents build confidence and develop skills to guide their children to: • Name a feeling • Think about how they know they are having that feeling • Notice what is happening in their body • Identify what their body needs to feel better We explore all emotions, not just challenging ones, to build awareness of the full range of feelings in everyday life. Parents support children to listen to information their bodies are sharing, and families work out together what is needed for everyone to feel a bit better. This approach supports children and adults to manage big feelings together. Over time, this awareness and practice generates greater emotional resilience and a stronger sense of regulation for everyone. Parents attend all five sessions. Children are warmly invited to join their parent for the final session, where ideas are shared and experienced together in a playful, supportive way. What you and your child will gain • A shared language for feelings and body signals • Confidence recognising and naming emotions together • Practical ways to support regulation during dysregulation • Understanding of what behaviour may be communicating • Stronger connection, trust, and emotional safety • Foundations for lifelong emotional resilience Perfect for parents wanting nurturing, practical ways to support big emotions while strengthening their relationship with their child. Cost £180–£280 for the full 5-week programme (1 parent, with child attending the final session) Pricing is offered on a sliding scale. Please choose the rate that feels manageable for you at this time.
